USPS Rate Change Guide: January 2017

The United States Postal Service approved changes to postal rates that went into effect January 22nd, 2017. Depending on the service you use, rates are either going up or down.
 

Key Highlights:

  • Marketing Mail – Prior naming was “Standard Mail”.  Which is the bulk mail that your printer/mailer presorts up front and enters at Bulk Mail Entry Units.  Pricing increase <1%
  • Priority Mail Express – Increase 3.4%
  • Priority Mail – Increase 3.9%
  • Parcel Select – Increase as follows:
    • Destination-entered non-Lightweight Parcel Select – 4.9%
    • Parcel Select Lightweight – 8%
    • Parcel Select Ground – 2.7%
  • Additional Domestic Change – Increase as follows:
    • Parcel Return Service – 5.5%
    • First-Class Package Services – 4.1%
    • Retail Ground – 3.8%
    • Premium Forwarding Service – 3.8%
