National Postal Worker Day

The United States Postal Service employs approximately 617,000 employees. It is in the top three of the largest employers in the United States. Every day, postal workers deliver 660 million pieces of mail.  That is 155 billion pieces annually.

In 1997 a former Postal employee, with the help of the United States Postal Service founded National Postal Worker Day.  It is celebrated on July 1st every year. This is the day to show your appreciation for your postal worker.

A quote from a USPS television commercial,

“We are mothers and fathers. And sons and daughters. Who every day go about our lives with duty, honor and pride. And neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of night, nor the winds of change, nor a nation challenged, will stay us from the swift completion of our appointed rounds. Ever.”

So on July 1st let’s take a moment to thank our postal worker for a job well done.
